How to Add Chrome Extensions to DashRDP Built-In Browser

With DashRDP built-in browser, adding an extension takes about 30 seconds. You copy the extension’s link, paste it into DashRDP, and click Add. That is it. No developer mode, no downloading files and no technical settings.

1. Why DashRDP Has Its Own “Add extension” Button

You may notice that the blue “Add to Chrome” button on the Chrome Web Store does not install extensions in DashRDP browser. That is on purpose.

DashRDP browser keeps your profile completely separate, with its own cookies, its own logins and its own extensions. When you add an extension through DashRDP, it is attached to your profile properly, so:

• It stays with your profile. The extension is there every time you click Launch Chrome.
• It loads cleanly every time. DashRDP checks the extension and loads it the same way on every launch, so nothing gets lost or broken.

So instead of the Web Store button, you use the Add extension button in Residential RDP. It is just as quick.

2. Step-by-Step: How to Add an Extension

Step 1: Find Your Extension and Copy Its Link

Open the Chrome Web Store at chromewebstore.google.com and search for the extension you want. Open its page, click once in the address bar at the top and copy the full link with Ctrl + C.

The link will look like this: chromewebstore.google.com/detail/…

Do not click “Add to Chrome”. You only need the link from the address bar.

Step 2: Click “Add extension” in DashRDP

Go back to the DashRDP dashboard. At the top of the window, next to the white + New button, click Add extension.

Step 3: Paste the Link and Click Add

A small window opens. Click inside the Chrome Web Store link box and paste the link with Ctrl + V. Under the box you will see the name of your profile, so you know exactly where the extension is going. Then click Add.

Step 4: Wait for the Confirmation

DashRDP downloads the extension, checks it and attaches it to your profile. In a few seconds a message appears at the bottom right of the window telling you the extension was added.

Step 5: Launch Your Browser

Click the white Launch Chrome button. Extensions load when the browser starts, so if your browser was already open, click the red Stop button first and then Launch Chrome again.

Step 6: Check Your Extension Is There

Your extension is now installed and ready to use. To see it, type chrome://extensions in the address bar and press Enter. You will find your extension in the list, switched on.

Tip: Click the puzzle piece icon at the top right of the browser and press the pin icon next to your extension. It will then sit on your toolbar, one click away.

Step 7: Click Stop When You Finish

When your work is done, go back to the DashRDP dashboard and click the red Stop button. This saves your session properly and closes the browser. Your extension and its settings stay saved for next time.

That is all. Repeat these steps for every extension you need. 

3. Simple Tips for Using Extensions Safely

• Only install extensions from the official Chrome Web Store. Stay away from extensions offered on random websites.
• Log in to your extensions inside DashRDP browser, not on your home computer, so your work stays in one place.
• Restart the browser after adding an extension with Stop and Launch Chrome.
